Sheryl Crow wants to help raise money for Joplin, Missouri, which has recently been severely damaged by the frequent tornadoes. She's not hosting a benefit concert, or that's not in the plan at this time. Sheryl Crow is auctioning off her 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL-Class.

Helping Joplin recover is quite important to Sheryl Crow. "After the tornado in Joplin," Crowe explains, "I was moved to help rebuild a city so close to where I grew up in Missouri. My hope is that the auction of my 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL-Class Roadster will bring funds to help rebuild the schools in the area."¹

Expected to bring in approximately $80,000, Crow's topless Mercedes-Benz is white with whitewall tires. It comes with both a removable hard top and a soft top. It was restored in 2005 and still looks just as new. Even the interior black leather upholstery has been replaced.

Crow's beloved 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL-Class Roadster is slated to be auctioned off by Gooding & Company on August 21, 2011, in Pebble Beach California. Proceeds from the iconic Mercedes-Benz will be given to the Joplin Schools Recovery Fund.
