Mercedes-Benz USA Employees Partake in Ocean-Side Cleanup

With so many partiers tossing butts, beer cans and God knows what other paraphernalia every which way into the Jersey shoreline; it certainly could use a couple of do-gooders to come in and clean up the place. Not afraid of rolling up their sleeves and getting a little dirty, Mercedes-Benz USA decided to take on the job themselves.
Nearly two-hundred Mercedes-Benz employees joined Clean Ocean Action to do a little beach beatification which will go a long way in the clean-up project.
Clean Ocean Action, for those Mercedes-Benz drivers in the Honolulu and Kahului, Hawaii areas not familiar with the organization, is dedicated to improving the quality of compromised marine water off the NJ and NY coastline. Mercedes-Benz USA decided to join forces with Clean Ocean Action, to help them reach their goal of performing 125 acts of community service in 2011.
As nontraditional as it sounds, the goal was set in part to celebrate the 125th invention of the automobile. Instead of celebrating solely themselves and the contributions they've made to the auto industry over the years, Mercedes-Benz is giving back. And perhaps, more impressive, they're trying to counterbalance some of the not-so-environmentally-friendly side effects of conventional gas-powered automobiles.
We don't know about you, but Mercedes-Benz of Honolulu and Mercedes-Benz of Maui believes this to be the most unexpected and pleasant, not to mention humble, way to celebrate success. Interested in learning even more about Mercedes-Benz's philanthropic efforts? Stay tuned. Mercedes-Benz of Honolulu and Mercedes-Benz of Maui in Honolulu and Kahului, Hawaii, is dedicated to keeping you informed.
