Regular oil changes are critical to help ensure a clean-running and long-lasting engine.
If your vehicle has the FSS (Flexible Service Schedule) system, it will alert you when it's time to change your oil and filter.
Check automatic transmission, brake and power steering fluids regularly.
Air filter and fuel filter should also be inspected with each oil change.| Belts & Hoses | See Our Current Service Specials |
Hoses should be checked at each oil change for hardening or softening, leaking, visible cracks or blistering.
Clamps should also be replaced when new hoses are installed.
Poly V-belts should be replaced every three to four years or 40,000 to 50,000 miles.
Replace the timing chain based on the interval specified in the Operator's Manual.| Brakes | Schedule a Brake Service |
Have your brake pads and rotors, along with the brake fluid, inspected during you're A- and B-service appointments (refer to your Operator's Manual) or when your vehicle's brake sensor display lights up.
Regular brake inspections will help you avoid "metal-to-metal" damage that can necessitate rotor replacement.
Typical brake service consists of brake pad replacement, along with related hardware.
Replacement of rotors may also be necessary depending on condition.| Tires & Wheels |
Under-inflated tires and improper wheel alignment can hinder vehicle performance and reduce fuel efficiency.
Check tire pressure at least once a month; if your vehicle is equipped with the Tire Pressure Loss Warning system, you can check the pressure from inside your vehicle through your steering wheel controls.
Follow the tire manufacturer's recommendation on tire rotation intervals.
Have a four-wheel alignment inspection done at least annually, or at the first sign of tire wear.| Steering & Suspension | Schedule a Suspension Service |
Have your steering and suspension systems inspected at least once a year by your Mercedes-Benz service technician to ensure proper handling and vehicle control.
Ideally, service should be performed when you have a wheel alignment.
Components inspected usually include shocks and/or struts, ball joints and tie-rod ends, among others.| Battery/Electrical System | Order a Replacement Battery |
A routine five-minute check of your battery and electrical system, performed by expert Mercedes-Benz dealer technicians just twice a year, can help avoid any battery/electrical system problems.
Mercedes-Benz recommends considering replacement of your battery if it is three or more years old, since any chance of battery failure increases with age.
Battery cable should also be periodically checked for any loose connections or corrosion buildup.| Radiators | See Our Current Service Specials |
Have your cooling system checked each spring and fall.
Get an inspection immediately if you experience overheating, coolant leaks, coolant odor (a sweet smell) or find it necessary to repeatedly add fluid.
If checking the coolant fluid level yourself, never open a hot radiator cap.
If coolant level is low, add a 50/50 mix of approved antifreeze and distilled water (see your Operator's Manual for more information).| Air Conditioning | See Our Current Service Specials |
Ask you Mercedes-Benz service technician to inspect the HVAC system annually. The technician will check pressures to test operation, refrigerant charge and outlet temperatures.
If your refrigerant is low, a leak test will be performed, and can be diagnosed and repaired.
A/C service should also include a check of the compressor's drive belt and tension.| Lighting & Wipers | Order Replacement Lights & Wipers |
Whenever your vehicle is in for service, you should have your lights - including brake lights, turn signals and emergency flashers - inspected.
Always replace defective bulbs with Mercedes-Benz recommended light bulbs (see your Operator's Manual for more information).
Wiper blades should generally be replaced every 12 months or when chattering/streaking occurs.
Sunny weather can make wiper blades deteriorate faster, requiring more frequent replacement.
Mercedes-Benz Certification levels of achievement within the Standards of Excellence Certification program are: Certified, Star and Master level - each signifying a higher level of expansive training and evolving expertise.
Service technicians are immersed in ongoing online re-certification training programs - including the Advanced Product & Technology Workshop.
The ELITE Technician Program requires intensive training on products, skills and systems covering subjects as diverse as Electrical Fundamentals, Climate Control, Chassis Electrics, Engine Management and Telematics.818 Kapiolani Boulevard
